TEACHING THE HEAD DUNK
Dunking for Hotdogs (or cheese) and teaching your dog a voluntary head dunk.
A voluntary head dunk into a bucket or container of water (not ice water) is a rapid way to cool down a dog that is experiencing hyperthermia.
This can be made into a game. We can do a timed fun even with different levels of water.
We bought 3 tubs at Dollar General – three different sizes. The small one is @ 5 ½ x 9 X 11 oval, costing $1.50 and our two dogs easily reached kibble in the bottom.
Find a container that will fit your dog’s entire head and bring it with you. We will have some bigger containers for the games.
We may start with games but will then work with you and your dog individually.
And we may finish up with games again.
